update ... install went well and everything works perfect! double checked everything and test fit, then did the final install while checking to make sure they functioned during each step
one of the pics will show where I had to drill a hole and cut out a clearance at each light bucket due to the wiring coming out of the housing not letting the housing slide all the way in (pic of bottom also shown) technostalgia lights installed: http://youtu.be/tVcHliY97nc right side replaced... clearenced for wiring to exit light bucket... bottom of housings... all installed and tucked away... my little helper screwing in all the nuts... Typing fat fingered on my GS3...excuse any sfelling mitcakes

I purchased a set of LED's from Technostalgia. paid $400. For the most part they worked and looked great. Once I went out of the warranty period is when all hell broke loose. Hyperflashing, error messages on the dash, afterburner effect working on its own with out applying the brakes...etc. etc. etc. their solution....send "new & improved" resistors. DID NOT fix the issues. They are getting worse, a short time ago a section of the lights have quit working altogether. I have made numerous phone calls (voicemail no call backs) email...you name it... no response. Keep in mind I AM NOT looking for total replacement for free. I would be happy with a pro-rate kind of deal. something that's amicable to both of us. and I have express this in email...to no avail. So...to anyone and everyone who sees this...if you want to spend $400 and get zero customer service be my guest. But I am done with this company, and since I tried to be reasonable about it I am telling everyone via blogs and social media. maybe, just maybe I will get a response.

No non-sense
I will go with it for now as I wait for them to come in. If they give me any trouble at all they will be returned period. I am not playing the poor product/poor customer service game because that's a pet peeve of mine. If they are not improved substantially from the first build then bye bye to them and hello DIY.com's afterburners.

These tail lights WILL apparently drain your battery when the car is just sitting there parked. I saw other people post about this. The best way around this is to just wire them to ignition power as well as a switch (so you can leave the hazards running without the key in the ignition. To this end I used a nice set of LED Oracle switches and just designated the red one for this purpose.
I also wanted to put my Escort 9500ci radar/laser detector/jammer as well as my Colorshift Halo light controller on switches so I used these. The installer did a masterful job and my battery doesn't get drained anymore I opted for this configuration because they are easily accessible. They look and work great! |

Got mine in Oct 2012. 1 small issue where the afterburner LED strip came off the housing. sent it in and get it replaced quickly, re-installed and never any issues since. Still working perfect to date! Love them!

Just reset them...disconnect your battery and that should be a simple fix.

I know this thread has mostly old posts but I just wanted to throw some things I found that helped me with troubleshooting to help anyone who installs anytime soon. Took a while but it worked.
1. Make sure that there are 3 prongs in the connector that goes from the lights to the connector where you pulled out the regular bulbs. If there's not three take a paper clip and put it in the top of the connector and bend it down. 2. Make sure all the connectors mentioned above have the two prongs pointed towards the top. 3. Not sure if this really helped or not but every time I wanted to make a change to test. I made sure that I disconnected the power wire, made the change and connected the power again to test. Hope that helps someone. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk |

I've not been on the board in a while, but ran across this thread and thought I would throw in my $0.02.
I went through two sets of these lights, each time a different problem. The sum of the issues was inconsistent operation. Sometimes a light would not work when pressing the brake, but the next brake press, the light would work fine. Other times, when parking lights were on, all the LEDs would not work. All my problems with the Technostalgia lights were eliminated by removing the harness that connects all the lights and has the purple wire. This does away with the afterburner brake lights, but they still sequence once when pressing the pedal and still sequence on turns. Occasionally, when pressing lock or unlock, each light does something different, and I've not figured that out, but during operation, everything seems to be working well now that harness is removed.
