Cold Air Induction question

Is the installation in a 1LE different than in a standard SS?

No.. exactly the same install and part! Takes 5-10min. Be carful with the airflo sensor when swapping over not to damage it. Great improvement too!

If you have the 1LE oil separator installed the vent connects to it instead of the metal line by the valve cover.

Oil separator is standard on the 1LE but arrives in a white rectangular box in the trunk for install by owner after delivery of vehicle.
Included oil separator doc states for track use only and not for winter use. Some ignore the warning(s) ;-)
+1 gto mark: good point about difference in running the separator line instead over to the CAI intake elbow.

Actually you don't have to disconnect it. Just put it in a zip lock bag and re-install it when you get the new CAI installed.

You certainly do have to remove the mass flow air sensor.. 2 screws on the factory tube.. you have to swap it onto the new tube. You also have to be very careful with it.. any damage to the air flow sensor and the car will run like crap.

I still have mine in the box too! I put a catch can but need to figure out how to mod a clean air side like these to my custom aftermarket valve covers..oil cap is totally different now.. I'm looking at modding the oil cap so I can use the Elite clean air one to.

Duh! Of course you have to remove the MAF. I was referring to the electrical connection but you're correct about using extreme care with the MAF

No, it'll run OK without a tune.

But it'll not be perfect without a tune.

I've datalogged mine in HP Tuners. There are a few areas in the MAF curve that are +/- 5% on LTFT+STFT.

Nothing terrible or to freak out about. But I like my tune to be as perfect as possible.
