Man $1300 is REALLY cheap for the total cost seeing that a paint job that i do the materials alone are atleast $1100 and up. They should of done what ever they said they would do for that amount and do it correctly.

i agree, 1300 is about rite. if u guys are payin $5000 for a paintjob, ur gettin jipped bad. the paint and primer itself is less than a grand, and unless they move reealy slow, labor should not be that much. my uncle got his 68 camaro painted at this place near me, and it costed 1200, and it was an awesome job. and he had stripes and everything painted on there.

Your really not being realistic about pricing. Quality work and materials cost money. Primers and clears are over $200 a gallon and that doesn't include hardner. Depending on color and how far your going with the prep, materials can easily approach $1500. Granted most "street" cars don't require a 5-10K paint job but quality prep and materials are everything in a paint job. That being said I'm sure you can still find shops out there that under value their work and still will give you a decent job. You just have to look around.

Well here's pics of my 69 Camaro and I'm $6000 deep, probably another $6k or so to go. I've always paid alot for paint jobs to get anything good. I wish I could paint these cars myself but I do not have the patience to prep one good enough for my expectations.Name: 100_7405.jpg

Looks good so far. We're just finishing up a COPO 69 ourselves. Original owner, 14K original miles...all original paperwork. I imagine its worth some money huh?

I have been in the paint and body bussiness for 28 years and last time I checked $1300.00 could still buy a nice paint job. (Earl Shrieb--- any car any color 99.95). Sure you are not going to get a show finish for this price but they should at least take off the headlamp doors. It takes more time to tape them than it does to remove them. For 1300. you should not have paint on your door panels and they should not have painted over rust. Did they ever resolve this problem?

You should go back and get your money back. 1300 is very cheap for a paint job but not as cheap as you say. It cost 9k to get my dads 73 painted. But they took all the panels off the car. Did all the prep work and everything so. You could find a better placefor 1300
