Daytime Halo's and red trim rings

Installed new LED's on the halos and added trim rings. The new LED's are 5 watt, replacing the 1 watt stock SMD's, and the rings are circuit-on-board style. Another vendor calls the C.O.B's plasma lights. The halos are now on a separate circuit so they can be on without the parking lights, although I have to remember to turn them off, or the headlights on without the halos. I followed gator6977's DIY for the install (THANKS gator6977). The trim rings are also on a separate circuit.

Sorry for the crappy pics, i need a new camera.

I bought them from www.superbrightleds.com. They have everything for DIY. The COB's are available in multiple sizes, including HID and DRL trims. I used the 80 mm size. The COB's come complete with drivers, the 5 watt LED's needed separate drivers. The correct puck drivers are shown on the pics.

those 5w halos look good and so do the red demon eyes! If you can get a picture next to a new model BMW I would love a side by side comparison to get a reference to how bright the 5W LEDs are in person

Careful. Remember that the stock halo-LED heat sinks were designed for 1W parts.

Thanks. I am already planning on opening them up again. Thought about another modification while wrapping this one up. Will have to order more parts first.

The install was straight forward. I waited overnight for the adhesives to cure before proceeding to re-assemble the front end, so start to finish was a full day. Removing the front end took a little over an hour, and 30 minutes to put back on. Baking the lights is required. I put all the wiring in cable trays, and pulled some spares for future use.

What would I need to buy to install the halo fog lights? The halo's themselves? Any wiring or harness'?

Jaime, you can buy the RGB (multi-color) ones and all the wiring, which isn't that much, comes with them. The same is true if you go with a single color. Either or, it's all pretty straight forward and not all that difficult. The only snafu is opening the lens's. Your best bet is a band saw as many have had bad instances with fast moving cutters, i.e. 3000 rpm dremel. The plastic melts really quickly. This link has about all you need and at about the best price you can find. This is one of the next mods on my ever growing list.
