Syncros break-in?

I have about 1800 miles now and the shifts still seem a bit stiff. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. When shifting into a gear, the syncros almost feel notched, and the gear kinda snaps in...

I'm just wondering; does this goes away with time/break-in?

I'm still fairly new to driving a manual and this clutch is hard to get used to.

I think I know what you're talking about I have around 2200 Miles on my car right now and I just trying my best to RPM match so the Syncros don't really do much work at all. Besides that it just seems to be part of the car. FYI this is my first manual car as well. It may be a new manual driver problem?

Maybe. I know I'm bad at matching rpm's. I was never really taught how to drive stick. I taught myself on a beater.

I wish I could chat with someone about the "Does & Don't".

I did the same thing you did, practice on a POS (unfortunately the HP jump took getting used to once I got the Camaro). There's plenty of knowledgable people here. What I've learned as I've driven this car is as you drive pay attention to when you get a bit jerky and when it's nice and smooth and try to immulate that. It will never be like an automatic on shifts because Humans aren't machines but it can be close =)

Usually I just shift 1-2-4-6, or 1-2-6 getting up to 50 - 60mph.

1-2 I do a quick shift, 2-6 I wait for the rpm to get down to 1500-2000 then shift in.

It's kind of trial and error but the more you drive your car the more you know how to control it and make it a smooth comfortable ride for your passengers.

I try to do all my shifts around 2500 RPM and don't have many problems. I did notice the shifter in the beginning but I corrected that blocky shifting by upgrading to an aftermarket short throw shifter.

I guess I misunderstood when I first looked at your post. Yeah that Shifter seems rough, I read in the manual that if you have that issue to just take it out of gear and put it back in... not exactly what I wanted to hear.

Stock shifter shifting is a bit "notchy" it is what it is. Eventually I'll be getting a short throw shifter, but right now it's not high on the priority list
