I'm an idiot. Backed into my house.

I've only had the car three weeks and I backed up too far into my driveway and hit the corner of my house. I dont know what I was thinking. We have a small three inch step in a walkway that's on the side of the driveway. On my previous cars I needed a 2x4 laid down on its side to easily go up this step. I knew when the front tires hit this step, not to go back further. But the Camaro had a lot more power at idle and it went up and over the step and hit the house. I yelled out a few choice words. Then when I got out and saw what I had done, I kicked the light up Christmas deer on the front lawn.

I've since removed the 2x4 and am going to be a lot more careful.

Hopefully this can just be sanded, filled and repainted. Going to the body shop after work Monday.

That's ok, I know a guy (no names) that revved his car is the garage or attempted to rev it. It was in drive and thank god the sheet rock/house studs were in the way to stop him from having a drive through garage.

This is about a $300 fix at the body shop.
Or you could put a bumper sticker over it?
Good luck.

That could be much worse. The 2nd day I owned my car I left it in gear and let go of the clutch in my garage and it scratched the front bumper on the stock exhaust. That was the only damage thank god. Could have been much worse, be grateful yours isn't as bad.

Get it fixed and be more careful.

And apologize to the deer.

Thanks for the support guys. I hope its only $300 like yellowrs says. But somehow I doubt it. It cost me $400 to have a brand new rear bumper painted for my previous car a couple months ago.

It's always wayyy more than we think. Shake it off. It's not that bad.

I once scraped the fender of a '68 Camaro backing out of an auto repair shop while in high school. Now that HURT. Especially all the mechanics just shaking their heads at my sorry ass...

You'll gpbe alright.

I recently had my car in gear at a meet and let the clutch out not realizing it was in gear. Drivers door was open and the car bucked forward and stalled when I let the clutch out. Luckily parking brake caught it. Door swung open and hit the car parked next to me. Big problem was it was a Ferrari 550! Owner was tanning right there and was pissed!

Had to pay for damages.

Chalk it up as shit happens!

I second the "brave to post this" comment
