We will upgrade the suspension and engine (427) as well and badge it with old school insignia. Aftermarket wheels are an option. The 427 will make 540/520 hp tq minimum
pm me if your interested
It sounds like a nice car but a Z/28 that is not from Chevy is not quite the same thing.

There are far more reasons to do it than to NOT do it. It's "simply" a matter of time...to complete the Project before the clock runs out...

As to an "unworthy" Z/28, I assure you that will NOT happen. It'll either be "right", or the name won't be used...

Stay tuned...
I was going to read through the thread...formulate my response...but this, this hit the nail on the head.

All I have to say is, "have faith!"

It'll be here.

Personally, I think that if the ZL1 is priced at $55K+, there will be plenty of room in the lineup for something between the SS and the ZL1.

Just look at the Ford Mustang product line.

V6 Mustang-GT/V8-Boss(Higher HP N/A V8)-GT500(F/I V8 with very high HP)

The GT500 is around 20%-25% more expensive compared to the Boss. And the Boss is 20%-25% more expensive compared to the GT. GT500 is almost 50% more expensive than the GT V8. I'm talking about starting price of course.

If GM price the Camaro line similarly, then we should see the ZL1 being about 50% more expensive compared to SS, which starts in the lower 50K range. Maybe 52 or 53.

Still a huge gap between the ZL1 and SS, like a 17K gap.

I doubt GM will leave this huge gap between the ZL1 and SS.
Plus, with all the MR and tweaks they did for the ZL1, R&D cost for the Z28 will be much lower if they use some ZL1 parts and technology.

True...but why not use it for a couple of years before the generation changes...hence, bring out the new platform with a new engine for the 6th generation...bringing a stronger line-up to the camaro that already has pricing set for the next gen., as well as, performance.

Plus, it can be a limited run for a year or two not just to test the market per say but to hold out for mass production in the 6th generation. Would help them eat up the LS7s and not have to have a mass production of the engine.

Isn't the boss a limited run right now?
