Borla vs. Magnaflow cat back exhaust systems

I am doing my homework on exhaust systems for my LS3. I would like to know if anyone has any preferences between the Magnaflow Comp and the Borla catback systems regarding sound quality and performance. I am also considering going with a set of JBA shorty headers as part of the installation. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I went with the SOLO MACH X Cat Back. The Mach X Resonator is superb, and at $750 shipped to your door, you cannot go wrong.

CHeck out the feedback on here:

Borla is made with T-304 Stainless while Magna is made with T-409

The Borla will be a bit louder and more agressive sounding than the magnaflow kit. Both kits are great in craftsman ship. Also check out Borla's headers that they make for the 2010 Camaro.

Are you talking about the Borla S vs the Magnaflow Comp? I was under the impression the Magnaflow would be louder since it has no mufflers

I now have the Magnaflow on my car. It is indeed quite but deep. I have borla on my '02 Z06 it is louder indeed. Preference going to the magnaflow because the deepness.

if you go with borla, you have to get the long tube headers they make also. IT SOUNDS BAD ASS!!!!!they work perfectly together.remember borla catback is only 2 1/2" pipe for the catback. so the headers work perfect with it. if you do a header with a 3" collector, you will need to do some modifications to fit with the 2 1/2" borla catback. i have it on mine and i love the sound.

The slightly lower grade stainless is still a 15 year stainless. So dollar for dollar the cheaper stainless should carry a cheaper price!

409 has more iron in it..so it will develop surface rust, but not rust through. 304 stainless won't rust..but it also will change to like a bronze color.
