My brother owns a Nissan dealer and they have two GTR techs i had both of them look at the car and transmission looked great. If the transmission where to go the Shep trans is 13k and that one can hold 1500 whp all day, the car shifts so nice and its weird for me because this is the first auto i have own but it really is a blast to drive

Don't let these guys get to you.

Many of them feel the GT-R is "below" them since they are making simliar hp for less money. What they don't understand is the engineering that goes into the GT-R. For example, each engine is hand built, in a vaccum room, by one engineer. GM can't say the same for their "mass production". Its an apples and oranges comparison.

You also have the 'MURICA guys...they will also try to ruin it for you. Ignore them.

Congrats on the GT-R, its a stunning car and a lot of fun to drive (I drove a 2010 back in 2009 and it was fantastic).

ENJOY!

The Sheriff already is watching! Good luck with your new ride. When you get to New York, check out Kaizen Tuning in Mass., they do great stuff with those cars.

Good luck with the new car and enjoy it. I appreciate the GT-R as it does perform well. I just never liked the style as it is personal preference. I was next to one a few years ago at a light and did not even realize what it was right away. Red helps that. Also, if you posted on the GT-R forum that you traded that for a ZL1 you would see some bashing also.

I can't deny looking at used GTR's. when I looked into picking up a car with a back seat and selling my Z06. ZL1 vs GTR vs GT500 where my showdown. my wife hates them though so it would have been a tough sell.

three things stopped me niether of which were perfromance.

1. looks (misses me) just too new school some day I do like them though others I am unsure.
2. absolutly hate the sound of a 6cyl and will never like it.
3. cost of repair/ownership was a concern. 35k engine new, 20k+ tranny new. just because I can affoard the used car does not men I want to pay to fix it.

perfromance wise they can't be denied though even these first run car are solid 11 second cars and tens are easy. anybody who talks bad about a GTR in terms of perfomance is just retarded. they throw it down.

To be honest at first i was concerned about cost of ownership but i thought about it and in a short time i spent a good amount on the ZL1 and the results werent as great as i thought it would be. For the same amount i put into the ZL1 i can get a low 10's GTR and street monster.

and for those who love to hate:

Sorry to say ... but!
This thread should not even be here ... we are not talking about a ZL1!
AND There should be no comparison ... sports car to a muscle car?
the weight difference is not even close!
I say it's to bad you got rid of your ZL1and enjoy your GTR ... now go find a GTR web site!
You will be missed:(
