Our First Convertible

Mike brought us his 2011 "Vert" with less than 200 miles on the odometer. We strapped it down on our Dynojet to get a base pull. It produced some stout numbers....369HP/365TQ.
We then tore into it and installed the following....
2" Stainless Works headers, 3" Stainless Works "Mild" cat back, Roto-Fab CAI, 160 T-stat and our tune.
New numbers.....422HP/420TQ!!

Here is a link to his build album on our FB page.

Here is a video of his last pull after tuning.

Thanks for looking!

Qwkss, is this an L99 or LS-3? Thought both had at least 400HP stock, the LS-3 rated for 426HP. Why was Mike's less to start?

I think the numbers you are referring to are the motors rated HP and the actual dyno numbers they are talking about is the actual HP delivered to the wheels. Not posative if I am wrong, I am sure someone else can correct me.

Yep, once an engine is in the car, dyno numbers mean at the rear wheel. And as it takes some of the engines output to turn the gears and other mechanical losses, you get a lower number at the rear wheel. Ball park is the wheel hp is about 80% of the crank hp. Which is why a stock 369 rwhp is indeed stout.

Thanks, Number 3. Didn't know that, as I'm a newbie to performance.

Btw, hope to see you at BBOMG3 if you'll be attending. Looking forward to the factory tour!

That's quite a boost for the mods! Any issues stuffing the 3" Cat-Back with the vert bracing?
