Arrow 2014 ZL1 the push for 800 [COTW 6/16/14]

Well, wanted to start an build journal early and update along the way. Enjoy!

Background: Grew up in northern california, had the opportunity to grow up with a 1970 chevelle ss, which I first learned to drive a 4 speed on. Dad and I took out the 396 and had Badass Racing build a monster 454. I currently attend Arizona State University, and this past January my parents decided to move to Austin, Texas.

Since high school always wanted to do a ground up classic with my dad but he insisted on modern technology and performance. Test drove the ZL1 a few days after helping move in Austin. Instantly knew that would be a project car both of us could enjoy. Picked up in February and couldn't be happier.

Go for it! Looks great so far. Did you not take the nose off to install the new bowtie?

Just the radiator cover part under the hood (4 bolts, 6 plastic pins) slides right out. then just reached through and popped the bow tie out.

The wrap was a PITA..... good for now though, way better than the gold! may plasti dip the chrome later.

Hydro Dipping

Taking some pieces to get hydrodipped. Also taking the bow ties front and back decided the vinyl didn't look as good as it would with CRT carbon fiber.

Crystal Red Tintcoat is so badass

When I was afraid my order was not going to be placed (long story) there was a CRT on the lot with the options I wanted. I was ready to go that way.

Fuse Pull

Did the fuse pull last night #5 and #20. Will drive the car for comparison when the weather gets better.

Engine bay parts will be back from L&S hydrographics monday. Took a tour of the shop and it looked great, explained the process. Excited to see the end results.

Really, really wanted a Black SS with the gray interior. It's a hat tip to the classic Buick Grand Nationals; watching "Black Air" really got my car juices flowing again after being off for so long.
