Important info for V6 1LE track pack

For any V6 owners that are interested in purchasing the 1LE track suspension kit, I have verified with GM that you MUST have the SS rear brakes at a minimum. They suggest the full SS brake kit, but you need at least the rears to accommodate the rear sway bar. Hope this helps someone out there!

By brakes I hope you mean rear sway bar end links. I have the 1LE sway bars on me V6 and the front end links worked fine but I had to buy the SS rear sway end links.

As far as brakes goes the V6 cars have the same stopping power and distance as the brembos because of a lot of variables one of which is weight.

If you add brembos to a V6 it'll stop better than a V8; however, brakes have nothing to do with sway bars.

The banjo fitting on the V6 brakes interferes with rear swaybar. As the pads wear down it will make contact and could result in loss of hydraulic pressure.

But the brake calipers move in relation with the rear sway bar so unless your lowered or your sway bar is not centered they should never touch. (This coming from an ex 1LE swapped v6 owner)

I believe you we ran our 1LE sways for a long time before we brembo swapped our v6 without the car exploding like everyone makes it sound like

I must admit I am reporting on 2nd hand information and do not have any personal experience with this.

But it was from qualified experts- so I would take it on a car by car basis.
The only "outboard" mounting rear sway with clearance actually designed to include the V6 brakes was the Pedder's Z-bar, as I understood it. Pfadt
said their's was a definite "no-go" without Brembo's.
