Do a fill up and reset your DIC. Then run it down to 1/4th tank and fill up again. Calculate your mileage and compare it to your DIC. It may be the computer is not accurate.

Guys keep in mind if you change the size of your tires from OEM (height or width) and do not have your ECU changed via tuning, your avg MPG and avg speed will not be accurate.

It's because he isn't getting over 20 mph. Using lower gears decreases your MPG. Cruising at 2k rpm in 3rd will have lower MPG than cruising at 2k in 6th. It has to do with rpm's vs speed. His only problem is driving slow.
to get your best milage, youll have to be in 6th gear with low rpms.

I have every fill up on a spread sheet too. Every time I checked the DIC to the fill up it was accurate with in a couple tenths. So I know the computer is spot on...........

Height for sure, but width will have nothing to do with MPG accuracy.

Yes I did.....................Sorry........... ......Couldn't resist.......................and you do know I am J/K.

Actually I think it is the spinnaker sail I use when traveling down the road. Some will remember from the drag racing thread, I was accused of using one of those when running the 1/4 mile too........

Good point!

Bingo. since I have an auto, I find that I am in 6th gear often while cruising weather 40 mph or 70 mph. If I need to accelerate, the Camaro down shifts into a gear it wants and off I go.

Nothing wrong with your Camaro. Just the short trips are killing MPG.
