Is this in Sport mode? Sounds like it except the gear slippage.

looks like your state has a lemon law and that you should qualify. I had a 2001 toyota celica gt-s with multiple problems (some more than 3 times for repairs) within the first year that I went through arbitration with Toyota and got a lemon law lawyer in Pennsylvania, where I bought the car and they had the law in effect. The same problem had to been unable to fix 3 times within 12 months or 12K miles. Anyway, I ended up getting all of what I had paid on the car back, even including negative equity carried over from the previous car, and Toyota had to buy the car back for what I owed. all in all, I ended up getting a check for around $10K, which included around a $2k payment to the lawyers (who were no direct cost to me because they were paid by Toyota).

All in all, it took about 9 months to work out since the first problem arose, but I didn't really have to do much besides taking the car in for repair, the lawyers took care of everything. I just had to go to a Toyota dealer the final day of arbitration for a final inspection and to meet the lawyer rep and they took delivery of the car at that time. The Toyota guys were pissed to say the least.

I ended up using about half of the money for a downpayment on the (then new) 2003 acura cl-s and threw on some mods. the lemon car was a blessing in disguise. good luck to you. sorry to hear it's a Camaro.

Give them a chance to repair it first then talk to the owner of the dealership about an equal trade.

I just posted something on this board for a similar issue a couple of days ago - transmission / electrial issue. (car was cutting out of power) The dealership replaced a few things first - but eventually it turned out my problem (I have a 1LT RS) was that a couple of wires in the engine harness were laying against the fuseblock mount and had frayed through and were shorting. Might want to take a look at that.
