Sounds like you got the wrong car buddy if your looking for a "Cadillac ride" in a track beast.
I didn't know cadillac made boats

Why i got just the regular ZL1. I find myself switching from sport to tour all the time for the suspension tweak. No regrets there

Same here. I think it's puzzling why GM didn't use adjustable dampers on the ZL1 1LE. Adjustable compression and rebound is pretty standard for a track car and can make a very stiff suspension livable on the street as well as offering tunability on the track.

From what I understand and have heard from those who track often, the biggest drawback from using adjustable dampers (like those with the magnetic fluid that GM uses) is consistency under extreme circumstances and heat ranges.

The DSSV spool valve shocks are mechanical and CAD machined for precise compression/rebound tuning that will react the same way every time , under every circumstances and heat ranges.

Remember folks, the 1LE is a track car first, street car second.

The solution would be adjustable remote resevoir coilovers (like Motons), but then the car would have cost as much as a Z06. Good track handling, Good street manners, Affordable. Pick two.

I doubt the ride quality would be any better on a coilover. I have Ohlin R/T on my M3 and the 1LE rides better.

The Ohlins R/T have DFV technology built in them, and are one of the more complaint coilovers on the market.

Are the Ohlins R/Ts double adjustable? I have the double adjustable remote resevoir Ohlins Flags on my Evo and they ride very nicely on the street even with 700+ lb/in rates. Having separate compression adjustments dial out a lot of ride harshness without making the car "bouncy."

Do you feel the need to? Would it make you feel like a bigger person?

Take it easy. OP didn't say they were looking for a Cadillac ride. Just making a funny comparison saying the Hellcat was like a Caddy compared to the 1LE.

Daily mine when it's not raining. 44 miles a day roundtrip. Love the ride. It's perfect...
