I think it looks better without the rods as well but I would put them on. I have the showstopper one that look similar to this and the wind pressure from freeway driving pushed my splitter down and broke my bottom grille and bent my bumper. Now I need a new bumper. If mine came with rods it probably would have helped.

Exactly what I'm talking about, you dont need to go 100+ just driving on the highway would do some kind of damage. I should know it happen to me, I had to replace the lower grill. Just don't want the same thing to happen to you.

I think by using the fascia bolts to mount the splitter, it will provide adequate support. I ran the car yesterday up to 75 MPH for 10-15 minutes and it seemed firm. I guess only time will tell.

It provides downforce on the front end. Modern cars are designed to lift at speed, theoretically providing better fuel economy. Not sure how much downforce this will actually supply, (I suppose some). It is more cosmetic than functional.

Actually at track speeds, and with a properly set up car (I.E. sufficiently close to the pavement), it is probably quite effective.

True, but with the splitter sitting about eight inches off of the ground, you're probably not going to achieve much downforce.
