Go here: I bought two of them (50% off). Great dryers and huge 22x40. They don't scratch your paint.

That's a good price. The reason we dont use bigger towels is that they can get cumbersome and harder to handle. Especially when drying the sides, the larger size can touch the ground and pick up sand or whatever and than scratch. Personaly I'd cut them in half.

With that advice, I would love to have a close up look at your paint. Those towels that you suggest he buy alone are responsible for a ton of swirls and scratches in a lot of paint. That OTC product you suggest he use is fine for someone who doesn't exactly care what their paint looks like but to those who know, it's nothing but garbage. Some things are actually worth the price they cost and the name doesn't have anything to do with it. It is what is in the bottle that makes the paint pop, not the label and having quality contents in the bottle is sometimes not cheap.

If you want to dry your car by hand, these are the best towels for it. Not that Costco, made in China garbage.

You can never go wrong with a leaf blower! The less things going across your paint the better!!

Oh god no. Do NOT do this. First dry out all the crevices with an air blower. Then mist the body panels down with a light spray of detail spray. Then wipe if down with some GOOD microfiber towels. I use the waffle weave towels from SoCalShop mentioned above.

Appears the large whites at SOCALSHOPGUY are out of stock??? If so, I would go ahead and pop for the ones at Adams...buy two...one will easily dry you Camaro, leaf blower if you have one...then dry windows, then top down..two bucket wash for sure...careful what you use to wash it with...I like the 9x9 at Adams but there are others...

check these vids out...they really helped me understand where the swirls in the paint come from and I have a silver TSX to prove it..you will need to be careful with red...

http://www.adamspolishes.com/t-videos.aspx

I bought one of these to blow some of the water off my Sierra CC before drying. Just got it and will let you know how it works...Amazon has them for $69 and free shipping.

EDIT: warning, watching the vids can make you want to slug anyone leaning (etc) on you swirl free car/truck...

+1 on the leaf blower, gets all the water out of the hard to reach places (around headlights/tail lights, grill, around lug nuts, etc..)
