Seems a rather excessive amount of battery ?

What are the hot start issues ?

I'm still using the same starter I've had now for 13 years, and it was a used engine/starter etc when I bought it, I think original stuff I bought was maybe 15 years old now

Ultimately the alternator will be powering everything once the engine is running, so a 250A alternator should be more than enough.

I tested mine a year or so ago although I only have 2x044's. Normal driving both pumps running, radio and small items and load was around 45A, cooling fan added about another 15, lights etc etc etc, max load for my car being driven say at night and in the rain would have came close to around 75-80A, I changed my alternator after that from old stock 105A to a 180A

But never have I had any starting issues even when I had the blower hooked up, usually around 9.0:1 CR though.
Even hot lapping, and driving the car in firing lanes, always stop/starting because I can't be arsed pushing lol
And still now even with a turbo sitting down beside the starter like your own setup, never had problems.

The first starter lasted about two years next to the turbos. They've downsized the motor case so much I tend to think it just gets too hot even with the little shielding they put in there.

When the car is hot, it's slow cranks pretty badly. We've tried about everything else so we are trying a extra battery. If there is no change then we may end up pulling it back out. But we are driving four fuel pumps, two of them are rather large with a high current draw in high speed mode.

One thing that might help tremendously is the LAVA blankets we now have on the turbos. They are pretty amazing at insulating the heat in. Time will tell.

Edit: one more thing, this new motor is a 10.5 to 1 compression ratio.

The first 2" headers I had, literally scraped past my starter, it's soo damn tight down there.

The turbo that's now down there, the compressor housing sits right beside the started, with the journal housing/turbine almost straddling the bellhousing.

I never really added any wrap etc, I chose to let airflow keep them cool for the most part, as sometimes wrapping things can almost make matters worse, as when heat gets in, it almost cooks things. At least when air can circulate that wont happen.
At most just a little shield perhaps to prevent radiant heat when stopped, but it will also prevent heat build up too.

my turbo on that side

and when it had the 2" headers, they had to scrape that close past in order to clear my steering linkage. It was a miracle squeezing them in !

I've just some 35mm^2 welding cable from the battery in the rear to the starter up front, battery is just a big 6-700A type.
But even once trying a small dopey race battery, it started the car fine.

Interesting. I may look at bigger cable. Hell in these camaros it wraps 3/4 the way around the car. Here is the best image I have at the moment.

Even with the ceramic coating on the manifolds, I've seen em glowing brightly...

What size cable are you using ?

I'm just using some 35mm^2 welding cable, not sure what that in in US terms. But you see it either for big welders or the likes of forklift battery chargers so it's readily available, not too expensive and very flexible plus the outer sheath is nice and thick.

Another option, you could maybe try and duct a little cool air to the starter area for when the vehicle is in motion ?

the shielding in the picture looks good, is it just a shield or does it wrap over the top of the starter, which then might trap heat around it, rather than letting air move ?

We are using the factory cable to this point. We have some other cable that's available but we will see what this does first. The shielding is mostly a flat double wall piece that bolts right above the starter. I can see where it might hold a little heat but I'm thinking it shields more heat than it holds.

We did add some insulating material to the outer surface for additional protection. That's the alumized cloth just visible.
