Gas Tank Range

I was wondering what kind of range are you getting per tank on your SS?

Full tank in City in 2SS I get about 350miles
took a road trip last weekend and got about 410 (i was on fumes!) I had to find her limit though.

now I know. Then again...there is about 2k on the odometer so I may get more as it breaks in further.

Oh B.T.W. I have an M6. I skip-shift 1-3-5-6 or 1-2-4-6 and I try to maintain less than 2K RPM's.

The closer I keep it to 1K-1.5K RPM's the better gas mileage I get.

So you are getting over 21mpg, CITY? Not unless you are chained to the back of a bus half the time.

Ok good, I just got this a couple days ago and with my driving it looks like I'll be going 100 miles on 16 gallons.

Sorry to be an ass but........ 100 miles/16 gal = 6.25 mpg. If you average 16 mpg you will only burn 6.25 gallons to go 100 miles.

Normally I get about 250-275 and that is filling up when I have about 1/4 tank left. I average 18.6 MPG consistently.
Took a road trip in June and I think I got about 400-425 out of it with around 1/4 tank left. That was averaging 25.3 miles.

Wow! That means you get around 18 MPG street as we have a 19 gallon tank I believe. That's impressive. I'm lucky to get 250 miles on street but highway i have done as well as 400 on a long trip

Mine shows a average of 18mpg and that's with AFM turned off. Highway and some city driving.

Wow, amazed at some of the SS returns on gas. My LT gets 18.5mpg in a mix of city/highway.

Full tank on Monday I fill up on Wed night after picking up my kids. I get 350 miles out of her Highway/City Traffic.

As posted above, I skip-shift and try not to exceed 2K RPM's (boring I know) But I get the MPG the wife wanted as we traded in a Malibu (avg 24MPG same driving conditions) to get something be BOTH like. Your calculations are incorrect It is closer to 18.5 MPG. (19 gallon tank)

We have been tracking our gas usage very closely since our purchase because my wife felt GM's MPG claim was a lie. I had to prove her wrong!

GM FTMFW! (even though that's my money you used to build my car then sold to me and I still had to pay interest!....****ERS!)

Das right! It's in the shifting.

the car idles under 1K RPM's the closer you keep it to idol ranges the less gas you consume compared to 3K+ RPM shifts.

THAT IS WHY M6 > L99's
