What Camaro model will go against the GT500?
What Camaro model will go against the GT500?
It seems that the SS is no match for the GT500? What will chevy do to have the Camaro beat a GT500? |

GT500 isn't a production car, therefore I don't think Chevy really is worrying about that matchup too much. There has been tests run on a car with a whine (aka supercharged) which was scheduled to come out around the time of the convertible, but it's been pushed back. No word has been officially given about it.

well considering you haven't been around and have not searched the forums why not search the forums and do a little reading.
but to help you out. At this time the Z28 (supposed top dog) is not officially confirmed to be in the works. in an interview it's been stated it's not going to come out. but another inside source said that it's too far out to talk about during the unveiling today. but if the speculation and the source is right the Z28 will have more power then the GT500 and out perform it in every way. just do a search on z28. |

Z28 with LSA Supercharged engine. Rumored to arrive around the same time as the 'vert. Increasing fuel prices could kill it, time will tell, I'm betting GM's mind is not made up and they are not committed to something never announced or verified officially.
Unfortunately, it would be priced like a GT500 plus IRS, and would weigh at least a couple of hundred pounds more than the SS.

Nothing as far as launch goes, but the LS3 seems to be a very potent engine. I believe there are cam only LS3s making 500hp+.
