Detailing Procedure for New Car
Is there a recommended procedure for detailing a brand new car? I have watched the Junkman videos and others on the net.
Should you resist waxing the car for 3 months to give the paint time to cure? Would the new car benefit from the PC polish procedure? Thanks for peoples input. |

your car is fully cured when you got it, the finishes at teh factory are baked....you are good to go NOW. now it really depends on how particular you are on how your car looks. Some people go all the way taking care of their car, some don't and couldn't even tell the difference if it was staring them in the face. IF you truely care about your cars finish and how it looks. YES, you would surely benifit by getting and using a PC on a new car. first do a two buck wash and dry your car......then do Junkmans "baggie test". If need be, based on the test, CLAY the car. Do you have any swirles any where? if so, you will need to use a swirle and hase remover, then polish the finish, then a quility wax job. its a LOT of work, but worth it. As far as the PC, it will make you life MUCH MORE EASIER, for doing all of the above by hand, well it would take days to do it right, not hours, which you can do with the PC.

I did a full detail (from clay to wax) the day I took delivery on my new car (10 days after it was built). The paint is perfect now (it was a mess frankly)

i would just go ahead and do a full detail job on it, wash, clay, polish, and wax. Heck, even clean and condition the leather seats!

I would have to agree with everyone above,
1 Wash 2. Clay 3. Light Polish 4. Wax or seal |
