Thumbs down PI$$ POOR SERVICE DEPARTMENT

OK guys, I have been in the hot rod world for 40 years. I have never been bull$hitted like I was today at the Service Department of Champion Chevy in Corpus Christi TX.
I picked up my new 2SS/RS less than two weeks ago. I noticed it had hesitation of about 1 second off the line no mater how easy or hard I accelerated. I figured it was the cheap Dealer gas, they are required to fill you tank on delivery. I drove it a couple days, with no improvement. I filled the tank with Shell 93 octane and put in a new K&N air filter. I drove that tank out and Filled up again with Shell 93 octane. No improvement, so I took it to the Dealer where I bought it. Champion Chevy of CC TX.
I took it in at 0645 hrs this morning. I explained the problem and the service idiot said he would get on it at 0700. I checked back at 11am.They had not touched it. About 130pm this bonehead calls and tells me my K&N Air filter is causing the hesitation. he needs me to bring in the stock AC filter so the Tech can get a true MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR reading, Because the Sensor was FLUCTUATING.I went home, got him the stock air filter and was told the GLOBAL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM is DOWN and they can't get any Board Powertrain Control Systems at this time. Come get it and see what happens.
I have used 30 or 40 K&N stock box and cold box systems over the last many years and never had a negative response, it has always helped both power and response time.
I Could be Wrong, But I seriously doubt it. Please let me know if you have ever experienced this problem.
I pulled # 5 and 20 fuses and will let it sit overnight and check it tomorrow. HELP!!

Was going to suggest the #5 & #20 pull but you've got that covered. Other than that, it sounds like you're dealing with a true winner. blaming the K&N filter sounds a bit suspect to me but hey what do I know. Good luck!

Pulling the fuses could help you.

As a side note, lots of dealers are dicks about K and N. Some dealerships even will go as far as to void your warranty. They say that the oil in the filter interferes with sensitive MAF's. Not saying that is true, just saying what I have heard.

If your dealership can't do anything and you get desperate and feel like making drive to McAllen, let me know. I can pull your car history from here with VIN and we can see what they did and know we have top rated service department in South Texas Region.

Thumbs up

So, did they diagnose the problem? Or just blow smoke up your butt?
What bothers me the most is when they say that they are going to look at it right away, the car sits for hours before they ACTUALLY do touch it. Yeah, that stuff makes me mad!! lol
I would try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes and then try a reconnect and see if that resets something.
GOOD LUCK!!

Dealers can not void the warranty. That has to come from the Regional Service Advisor. But he can definately do it.

I've got the smokiest butt in Corpus tonight. they did not fix anything. But in their defense, it took them all day to not fix it.
