Camaro was never built with a full frame, I had a 1968 and it was a part frame front and rear.

They are repairing it, 10,000k in damages. I'm gonna file a loss of use and diminished value claim upon completion.

Best of luck and hope that your car comes out of the shop, good as new.

I would take the diminished value claim and lightly if possible take the hit on a new Camaro... Screw it.. Leave once right lol

Any damage to unibody or suspension?

Yeah, that matches what I said earlier in this thread as a rough estimate of the cost. You'll probably never be able to tell this car was hit by the time they're done, but there's going to be very extensive bodywork involved unfortunately just because of the specific body panels that got bent up. It's a good idea to file a diminished value claim because your car is going to be worth substantially less on resale now ($5k or more) when they review the vehicle history. That's life though. :(

Definitely do that...I got a couple of grand back on a 370Z that was 2 weeks old when sandwiched ($7K in damage). Was good as new when done, and the repair never hit Carfax....Bonus.

It doesn't look totaled to me either from the angle of the photo at least. If you look at the seam of the passenger door, it looks completely normal. I don't see any buckling up around the B-pillar or around the rear window. Sorry that happened to you and hopefully the body shop will bring it back to original quality. That way, the diminished value won't matter at all because you won't want to ever sell it!

Ahhhh...a little Mother's polishing compound and she's as good as new!

Really sorry for your hurt. I can't imagine a brand new car with damage like that. Repaired or not, the owner always knows!

Well my car is due back to me this week after what will have been 85 days!!!! I will be filing a DV claim obviously and I was curious what is the best way to maximize what I will get. Also, is there anyway to recoup the two 700.00 car payments and 3 insurance payments of 120.00 I have paid while without the vehicle?

Unibody cars have frame rails but not like body on frame it used to be on old cars or current trucks. The subframes which house the suspension usually bolt to the frame rails, but the frame rails are integrated into the body of the car and cannot be separated. So in this case the frame rail could have been damaged a bit which if it moves the subframe mounting point can affect suspension geometry.

Here at the tail of the camaro you can see the boxed sections these usually run the length of the car, and terminate by the firewall possibly front suspension subframe..
