My 2010 Mustang might be a lemon

I've owned 3 new mustangs now. None of them have had this many problems, its gotten so bad now the tranny is going out, rotors are messed up, exhaust leak, broken door handle, blown speaker, etc all right now. It's been in the shop 5-7 times already.

Anyway, the 2011 Mustang is fast, with 12.6 in the quarter and 4.4 seconds to 60. Thats quite a bit faster than the Camaro. HOWEVER, I love the exterior of the Camaro (although I like the mustang interior much better..)

They have a black 2010 Camaro up at my local chevy dealer that I'm interested in. The sticker is $37k and he said thats what they are going for, definitely not going for invoice (AND IM PRETTY SURE they are going for invoice or very close to it..)

Not to mention, isn't it 2011 time? I am biased, I love Mustangs but would be willing to switch to a Camaro if I get the right deal. Can you guys help me figure out what a $37k camaro SS should go for? (out the door minus the titling and what-not)

I can't tell you exact prices as i have not boughten a SS or my car yet, but after shopping for a few months i'll tell you what not one dealer i've been to will go lower then MSRP which i think is pathetic and yes they are taking orders for 2011 starting May 6, and production begins early June so they are very close, so i'm holding off for the right deal considering 11's are so close if i were to pay sticker price i might as well get the 11.

1SS, 2SS, RS, auto, manual? You can build one on chevy.com for comparison. Sorry about your ride.

I get I can build one, but why is this dealer stuck on selling it at MSRP is my question.

Not sure how the dealers are around your area, but shop around. Its worth the drive to find a dealer that charges right at MSRP. There have been dealers charging straight MSRP since the Camaro first arrived, you just have to look. I believe theres even a thread with a list of dealers names that charge MSRP.

I have seen 2K off sticker at a few dealers. Shop around...

For a 2011 you would need to order it. Everything you find on the LOT will be a 2010.
You should be able to use that knowledge to your advantage...

Oh. They know they'll get MSRP. It's still the hottest thing next to the Sun. Ask around, maybe walk out the door. Remember though, someone else may walk in wanting THAT car and pay MSRP.
If they're asking more don't even say goodbye when you leave.

The 2010 Camaro is not the hottest thing under the sun, in a month there will be an '11 and 4 months ago I saw them going for invoice on this forum. I can get a 2011 Mustang GT at invoice and its hella faster (probably for buying 3 brand new cars in the past 2 years at the dealership). But still, you get my drift.

Looks to me as if the Camaro isn't worth my time. I won't pay sticker, end of story.

I paid 38,900 for my RY 2SS/RS with a sunroof on 5/28/2009. Plus tax and stuff.

This had no sunroof, no wheel upgrades, just the brembos and pirelli's. No stripes, etc.

I'd wait for the 2011 Mustang if you're a big Mustang fan. It sounds like you just got a 2010 made on a Friday or something.

To my understanding, they aren't changing a whole lot with the 2011 Camaro either.

I've heard the Friday excuse 4 times. Is that common, seriously?

Then either go talk to the dealer and get a better price, or go get the " hella faster" Mustang and maybe you'll get lucky and not have the same problems you're having now.

The Camaro is the hottest thing under the sun right now. No outside difference from the 10 to the 11, kinda like your "hella faster" Mustang. That might be the reason you can already get a 11 Mustang at invoice and not a 10 Camaro??

Just saying, that's all.

if you can afford to wait a couple months, the 2011 camaro is going to come out.

that means if you AT THAT TIME find a 2010 camaro you can get it for many thousands of dollars less just because it is considered "old" even though it doesnt have a single mile on it....

just a thought to consider. good luck car shopping!
