It's awesome that there is hope for the Z28.

It's sad that apparently it won't be affordable to the common guy, as with the past Z28 models. :(

Maybe adjustable suspension or the dual mode exhaust from the Corvette? That would make a fantastic Z/28, but since so many people stubbornly believe in one-dimensional power, well never see it. So frustrating.
I like what You say hear.

And will and look back in history guys
What was the original Z/28?

What did RPO Z28 really mean?

GM really IS following their roots here; with the new Camaro.

Great car as was the first! Way to go GM!

IMO 2012 and it WILL be about handling and not huge HP.

Handling, handling, handling; just look back in history!

Great job Chevrolet

I'm in. I've been dreaming of this car since the first Z28 rumors hit the web.

Whatever it takes I want this car.

If they build It I will buy it. Period.

The Z-28 is the only car I think I might want over the SS. The pricing has to be over $50000. Gas taxes not included. OK so when is this puppy coming out? It is nice to dream big but the Insurance is going to be out of this world.

How about those mags, hood, dovetail, and a front spoiler going to cost aftermarket for the SS?

Use caution.......Chevy's are addictive!!!!

I neeeeeeed the motor.......it has to be a Z-28!!!

Wow, I'm all for it I see GM making about 5,000 of these, that bitch is beautifullll

One thing puzzles me, they said that the weight should stay around 3800lb-3900lb

The CTS-V has 7 radiators, 2 intercoolers' and that, monster engine the LSA, if GM take's it to Jenny Crag, Your looking at 4000lb-4100lb ... at the most

I'll wait to hear it from GM. There are alot of "hurdles" GM has to clear before the possibility of a Z.
Yeah, but really, the article added it's own grain of salt. It basically said: a lot of people in GM want this car to be made, if the stars align and the market improves it may happen, and if so, this is what it will look like. Even if it is made, I won't hold my breath about being able to buy it since most of the time when a limited edition is made, the car company is unwilling to break two more of them for Canada.

while I like the looks of the rendition. a Z28 is not going to happen for a while.

My doubts about that article:
- They have pictures of a clay model and do not post the actual picture? C'mon ....
- It looks soooo much like the new bumblebee... too close to be honest ... this rendering is just kinda red bumblebee ... and bumblebee looks much more concept-like to me.

Thus to me the picture is pure speculation.

Regarding the article, I hear this guy. Politicians may try to force GM to make prius-like crap ... However, making cheap tiny cars won't send the right message ... Make a big car, make a big engine, show the world you're not dead and car is still about passion. Moreover, I'm not sure american people will turn that fast their automobile culture to tiny green cars. We hear a lot these people living in big cities saying the whole country they can live with one car, this lone car being tiny and green ... Not sure Iowa or Montana people think and need the same

Not really. In the first gens the Z28 was the road race series version if you will so it had more suspension upgrades for handling and such and was a better driving car. The SS had HP advantages, depending, but were not as good through the twisties. Similar to the Mustang GT-500 vs GT-350. The 500 was the B.S.D. but most preferred the 350 because it was more balanced and closer to a track car. In the later years of the Camaro the SS was the all around king as it got all the high performance upgrades and the Z-28 was just the base V8.

Correct me if I’m wrong on any of these points people I’m just going off the top of my head. And I for one would rather see a very limited production at a high price than the car not get made at all.

On another note, does anyone see a problem with a private company having to seek permission or approval from the government to build something? I sure do...but that is what happens when a private company goes to the government seeking a loan/handout. This is yet another illustration why that loan was anything but a loan. When I borrow money, my creditors don't get to tell me how I pay it back, they only expect it to be paid back.
