What happened to the "free market"? Make what the customers want and they will buy from you, Dan. My wife was getting ready to trade in her Prius for a Traverse but maybe should she just keep it.

This is what happens when you put your hands into the government cookie jar. They have you push their agenda. I was shocked ( not really ) when I read this. I already spend over $100.00 a week in gas.

efff u Akerson. It gets harder and harder to defend the "obama motors" comments i hear every day. There's no way i would buy another gm if they are successful in any way. Absolutely pathetic, just another reason y they should have declared bankruptcy......

In reading that I actually wanted to sell my GM cars and trucks...all of them...and stop the purchase of the Camaro that is currently at Tom Henry with my name on it.

That was the most vile, idiotic, imbecilic and utterly irresponsible things that the CEO of an AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURER could think, let alone SAY OUTLOUD to a reporter. If I sat on the board at GM right now, I would walk out, sell the stock I had and never look back.

I can see why he was placed in this position...I guess all those people calling GM Government Motors were not wrong after all.

This has just rattled my faith in GM to it's very core.

well said, i to am well over $100 a week especially if i drive one of the diesels. It's sad when the monthly fuel bill is more than the monthly payment.

"We're too good a nation to let ourselves be a banana republic," Akerson said, warning that a default would be "unimaginable" and could hurt auto sales.
But he agrees with those who say the country has been spending money it can't afford.

Oh I get it: he's getting his talking points from his boss, Obama.
