Painted Tail Light Trim Rings

I want my chrome tail light trim rings either painted matte black or replaced with new ones that are already matte black. Does anyone know where I can buy them? Thanks.

Justin

This! it is super easy, super cheap, and if you do not like it... peel it off. $5 and ten minutes it is done.

This is exactly what I did! Easiest and cheapest way I found to go!

The ones I bought were direct replacements for the chrome ones. I have seen the type that covers the existing bezels, but it makes more sense to me to just swap out the entire bezel with a flat black one.

The bezels snap in place. The easiest way to remove them is to take off the plastic covers over the tail lights and use a trim removal tool to carefully remove them. Here is a thread with a video showing exactly how to do it:

If you want them painted RPI designs has once that are actualy painted but they are expensive. ~145 or on ebay they are $130 for the guy a saw painting them.

I was thinking about doing the ebay ones that are just flat black to begin with but I am not sure if body color ashen gray bezels would not look better on my car.

if you want flat black I think the modled flat black for $69 is the way to go.

Just remove yours , get a $1.99 spray can from HD , some sandpaper , a couple beers and be done with that . This way you still have all the original parts on and you did it yourself .

Replacements. Takes 5 minutes to swap all four, no bolts/screws. This way I still have originals if/when needed ever.

Hi, yeah I took the plastic chrome ones out and replaced them with the flat black ones. Got them on e bay. $69 sounds about right, and you still have your old ones if you ever need them or maybe someone else may want to buy them from you. Got my initial info fromDeke736, check out his ride. Best Ashen Gray Metallic ZL1 I've ever seen. He has all the extra stuff on my wish list, a million more hours of overtime and I'll be there too, but here's a picture of what mine look like. Not the best picture, but you can see the color, a big improvement over the chrome. I'm going for that dark menacing look.

Of course, it's all a matter of what appeals to you personally. I just happen to like the dark and evil look

Like others have said... Plasti Dip. This gives you the best of both worlds. It's very durable and allows you to go back to chrome if you ever decide to down the road. You can pick it up at Home Depot or Lowes home improvement if you have those stores by your house. Cost a bout 5 bucks per can. You should only need one can for the whole job.
