I would do so as well for the vast majority of Asian cars.

Only exceptions: Avalon, Maxima, and GT-R.

Asian small cars are great for performance and reliability, but they don't pull off reliability on larger cars any better than American manufacturers. I did drive a 2013 Camry this weekend, and as toaster ovens go, it was above average.

I think Hyundai cars are looking 10 times better than Honda's these days.

Not bashing your way of thinking, because I was the exact same way. I guess my narrow mindedness has expanded with age. Lol

Without checking the numbers I still feel confident believing that more cars from US based companies are made here than Foreign car companies.

As to the taxes and salaries there are still less than the US companies (I assume) but IIRC most of them set up camp in Right to Work states so no Unions (if that's important to you, surprisingly it's not to me) all of this is in a effort to undercut the US based companies while still being able to claim that they are "American made cars". Believe it or not this is my expanded mind I'm 40 now... lol

The long and short of it I really doubt that buying an Asian or German car for that matter does as much good for the US economy as buying an American based car. It this Global Economy nonsense that IMHO doesn't seem to be working out too well that is even making this a conversation. It's not enough that many of the components on all the cars are pretty global as it is. I mean electronics from Japan/China/Mexico the Brakes have been Australian/Italian etc.

BTW... this was not an attempt at starting an argument or debate just me explaining my stance/opinion.

I was a snide comment dripping with sarcasm, and the Honda owner understood exactly what I was saying to him because he saw my face when I walked up to my car and couldn't squeeze between his rice bucket and mine to get to the door handle much less open the door..

pretty sure he knew I was picking on him which is why he got butt hurt.

Avalon is my company car. Didn't expect to like it as much as I do. 6.0second 0-60 and 14.2 second 1/4 mile while getting 32mpg hwy makes it bearable and fun. My 2011 has 94,000 miles. I trade out in 4 months and looking to get the 2014 edition although the Impala is pulling me.

As for the GTR......no question.

Yeah, till you had to go someplace that was 300 miles away and that was the only car to get you there..

That car would look mighty fine then..
