Internal upgrade
Once again it has been a long time since my last post in here. Part of this could be that I keep my car in storage over the winter. However, as is often the case with this site, browsing through threads has once again led to inspiration. I recently purchased and installed the smoothed and painted center console, speedometer and steering wheels bezels from Gary's Customz in IBM and SIM to go along with my IBM door and dash panels.
I am very pleased with how the pieces turned out and love adding more color to the interior. With my car now paid off I should have more mods coming soon! Last edited by Bluestreak 2010; 04-21-2015 at 06:30 PM. |

What is not to like?
Bluestreak 2010, I started out on your thread saying,"I like this, I like that, Oh and yes I really like that other". What I should have said was that I like the whole thing!!
What a nice build--and congrats on the Award for the Car Show...they don't just give those things away!--You earned every bit of that award...enjoy and keep us posted... BTW, I am interested in maybe attending the next one...sounds like a nice day... Kurt Keller--AquablueL99

Aquablue, if you haven't found it already, you should check out the Indiana thread. It is constantly updated with dates for events and would be where to find out when the next meet @ Hare will be. Here is the link, and hope to see you around: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81280 |

Finishing interior touches and "de-transforming"
Once again it has been far too long since I updated this thread.
I have added some finishing touches to my painted center console by getting the lid painted and adding the Restyle Camaro shifter from Concept Fiber Interiors. This turned out to be quite an ordeal, so you may want to PM me first if you are thinking about ordering from them. I will say that the quality of the pieces is top notch, its just that I had a couple of customer service issues with them. I also decieded I wanted to address my V6 break calipers. I didn't want to spend the money to do a complete swap to V8 breaks so I ordered a set of the MGP caliper covers. I chose to do a color match to the car and opted for the custom engraving. I must say I am quite pleased with the result. Finally, here are a couple up to date pictures of the car. Its back to looking pretty plain, but that should be changing soon. I am headed to a local body shop to see about getting some custom stripes painted on and installing the factory spoiler I have had sitting around for some time now. New Stripes; August 2nd C5Fest 3 Cruise
As I mentioned in my last post, I was looking to get new painted stripes put on. I used the Transformers 3 design for my inspiration but kept the pinstriping of the standard rally stripes and changed the dimensions on the hood to come up with a unique look. The body shop painted the stripes and then re-cleared the entire deck lid, roof and hood for a smooth finish, as well as installed my OEM coupe spoiler. I am very pleased with how it all turned out!
As most people here know, this year Camaro 5 Fest was hosted in Indianapolis. I was fortunate enough to get out to the cruise night, but didn't get the chance to make it out to Lucas Oil Raceway for the main events. The cruise had upward of 240 cars which stretched for over 5 miles. Here is the link to the thread for pictures and video from the cruise for any who want a better feel for the event: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=240770. There is a nice series of videos showing every car that went on the cruise pulling out of the hotel parking lot. Last edited by Bluestreak 2010; 04-21-2015 at 06:41 PM. |

How does your lower grill look in person compared to the upper heritage. I have the upper already ordered and think the lowers look like a good match but being of two different materials I am curious how the finishes look first hand? Is that a layover or cutout?

I have the cutout lower grille and am very pleased with it. The black portion of the heritage grille is the same plastic material as the stock grille and has the same fine, bumpy texture. The street scene grille is billet material so it is harder and the finish is smooth. The street scene grille is also a slightly darker shade of black, but you really have to get up close and inspect the two grilles in order to notice the differences. I would highly recommend the street scene grille to compliment the heritage. I hope this helps!
