IIRC The 24 hour Le Mans style race at Sebring showed that the Ecoboost 3.5L could keep up with the LT1 equipped vehicles. (At least until the last lap of the race, or close to it.)

You know I'm a fan of all road racing but I am amazed that the speed of th pirelli world challenge cars are actually faster than the continnental sports car series cars.

at road America the black dog camaro in work challenge
lapped almost 4 seconds quicker than the Stevenson camaros did.

Both have great competition and it's fun to watch.

In Qualification it's like 2.5sec diff between Lawson in the BlackDog Z28R and Lawson in the CKS Autosport Z28R at Road America.

Sprint VS Endurance racing , 16 against 54 Laps. It's all about lasting Tire compound.
Brakes, suspension and motor restriction rules also play a part.
