Red face Another way Big Brother..ummm errrr Onstar..

..can control you and your Camaro! Check this out, quoted directly from an email I received from Onstar today...

"Stolen Vehicle Slowdown†† is now available on select 2009 model year GM vehicles. OnStar Advisors, working with law enforcement, can now send a remote signal that gradually slows down the stolen vehicle. It's just another way OnStar helps to protect you and others on the road."

Break out your tinfoil hats! So...if I ever did anything wrong...and law enforcement found out I had Onstar...they could slow/shut me down. Cheaters!

Yup, this has been known for a lil while now. There was a news article about it being used on a stolen Tahoe. Dunno about anyone else, but I'm not involved in anything that could get me hunted by the cops/government

How is this not a good thing? You would have to call them to report it stolen in the first place! What is all the paranoia with on star? Do you really think that on star and the LEOS are sitting around waiting for you to do something wrong so they can shut you down? I think most would have better things to do with their time.

This is the MAIN reason I WILL be keeping onstar so if the car does get stolen at least there may be some chance of recovery, I don't fear big brother I have no reason to, I don't have anything to hide. I think this is an awesome feature that should be in all vehicles, this also gives you a better insurance rate.

Chance of recovery WITHOUT massive damage from a high speed chase!

Your vehicle was automatically enrolled in onstar.. They don't use license plate numbers they use your VIN.

And are you guys looking at doing something where cops will chase you down?
