08 cobra vs 2010 SS LS3
What would it take for this race to be close if mustang is stock?

Probably a supercharger and good driver mod. I'm not sure on the numbers of the 08 cobra, but I believe they're about 500 hp and 480 tq to the wheels. Both cars weigh around the same. so if you can pick up 120 or so hp at the wheels, it will come down to driver mod.

You mean GT500? 2004 was the last year that they made the Cobra (I think). I'm no Mustang fan but the 04 Cobra had a 390 HP 4.6 L supercharged engine and weighted around 35-3600 pounds. I would say that with those specs and weight it should put the car in the low 13 second range maybe high 12's with a good driver.

Pretty sure the 08 GT500 is a mid 12 second car from the factory.....sticky tires will drop that number drastically however. We can help you put him in your rearview if you're interested.

They aren't that fast bone stock but if he has a pulley and tires it's a different story.

If he has pulley and tires, like stated, you're toast. They only run 12.5 or so factory. And thats with a damn good driver.

I would say cai, tune, lt headers, cam and driver mod to safely win that one.

Stock 440rwhp like stated. Get him nice and heatsoaked. He will be lucky to be In the 400whp range In this summer heat. That being said I bet you do full exhaust and intake I bet you would hang with one if not beat him. Dont forget also if hes on stock tires almost a given win to you. 07-09 gt500s completly stock are way overrated. I think you can take him with what I said.

2007-2009 GT500's aren't over-rated or slow for what they are despite what people have said. Just like the new GT500 people thought they were the cats ass when they were new. With that being said they were a good race for my 2007 C6 Z51 and my C6 is/was faster than my 2012 SS.

100 percent stock gt500 is way overrated imo. They are a great platform to build off of. In my opinion though a supercharged gt500 should blow a full exhaust and tune cai ss camaro away... but its just not the case.. whether it be traction or heatsoaked.. they are a good race for 5.0 and ss camaro stock if not lose more often then not. This is just from what ive seen in florida.when stock Winter time runs like a champ but traction issues. Summer time great traction but 10min after started the damn thing starts pulling timing. Do a back to back pull and significant timing pulled. Thats why I have a dual fan afco heat exchanger. Works wonders. Probably will get a killer chiller when imove to az though
