Thumbs up Is This A Good Price For Borla S-Type Axle Back & Magnaflow Tru-X 2.50" X-Pipe?

Hi everyone,...
I've been getting offers in my email a lot lately and I came upon this setup and was wondering if this was a good price for these two items.

1 x Magnaflow Tru-X X-Pipe 2.50 Inch.
1 x Borla S-Type Axle Back With Round Tips.
Total Price is $662.16 with Free Shipping.

I'd like to get a CAI while I'm shopping to get the discount on it as well but i'm still undecided as to which one to get still.

The Coupon code for AutoAnything for 10% Off Your Order Under $150 is PBEA3 or you have this Code for Orders over $150 EJA1018FAA

Let me know what you think about this price because the sale i think has been going on for a day already so i only have another day to think about it.

If I happen to not get the Axle Back and just go Straight Pipe, Borla sells a set of these Tips in a 4"x4" Outlet Size, 2.50" Inlet Size, 6" Length. Will these Fit out of the Exhaust Ports on the 2SS with out any problems?

Thanks guys.

If you decide not to go with the Borla axle-back I would tell you to look into making a Magnaflow Comp series cat-back type system. Basically you'll use a Magnaflow #11386 X-pipe (it's a resonated x-pipe) and then do a muffler delete. You should be able to use a local muffler shop, supply the x-pipe, and get it all done in the $250 - $300 range. If for some reason it's still a little loud for your tastes you can always add some Magnaflow mufflers for about $140 + labor.

Take a look around post #89 on this thread:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=28047&page=4

Give Jordan a call to get your pricing.

This is basically what you'll be making. You can hear the sound clips on this page. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...one=all&id=126

BTW: The price listed above is assuming you'll be using your factory exhaust tips.

If i cut the stock exhaust off and will I be able to use the Stock Tip again or No? Wont i have to buy new tips anyway or what?

That what i was thinking i had to do was buy new tips,.. I didnt think the stock tips off of the stock mufflers would be useable.

You can reuse the stock tips. I think there is about an inch or so of space between the back of the tip and the front of the actual muffler. Many have reused the tips already. So unless you specifically want after market tips then have the muffler shop cut off and reuse the factory tips. Locally I've found a shop to do the muffler for $80 and another for $96. Shop around and you'll find it in that range. The x-pipe will cost you about $95 and to install should be around $60-$80 for that.

Do a search on this forum for muffler delete. There are plenty of threads and almost everyone reuses their factory tips.

Man,.. Thats Great News about the Factory Tips. I wasnt sure how much room there was between the muffler and the tips for cutting.

Do you happen to have a close up picture of your Factory Tips Handy by chance that you could post up here so i can check them out pls?

Hmm,.. Now i dont know if i want to go with the Borla S-Type Axle Back & Magnaflow X-Pipe with Resonators Removed or save myself a Bunch of Money and just go with the Straight Pipes and Magnaflow X-Pipe with Resonators Removed.

Sorry....can't help you out with the picture of the factory tips since my car won't be her for another month or so but look around on the forum for muffler delete.

The aftermarket tips form the SLP LMI or Magnaflow Comp axle-back definately look better than factory but it's just a matter of how much money you want to spend. Right now I plan to go as cheap as I can for a little while because my long term plan is to install Long Tube headers and full 3" exhaust.

Here is the original muffler delet thread. This doesn't have the #11386 though but you can get an idea.

Hey ya Hyp,...
Howsx it going?

I checked out that store and it seems like they dont carry exhaust for the 2010 Camaro's and I couldnt find any Intakes for it either, The Magnaflow X-Pipe they sell is the same price as it is at AutoAnything.

Do you know the guys who work there or something?
