Cancelled My Order - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

First of all let me thank Fbodfather, CamaroScotty, and all the people in the know for their great contributions to the forum and for promoting both the camaro and providing excellent information above and beyond what anyone could have rightfully expected. Big props to you all you folks. Also, I would like to thank the other forum contributors for their opinions (both positive and negative) in this free speech country of ours. It has been, to say the least, entertaining

I ordered Oct. 13th 2008, Priority #1, and CGM (Constrained).

Since I am from a small area the dealership only gets a few allocations and I was skipped over 3 times because of CGM. I do not want to change color for reasons that the CGM devoted would understand. The dealership has been very good with me all the way through the process and I even taught them how to use their own system to check the status of orders. When (we) checked today, he was not going to be getting allocations for quite some time and when adding the conservative 8 weeks after that for actual delivery, it would have been almost the end of summer so I decided to call it Enjoyquits for now.

I may check with larger dealers once the numbers look better since I still love the Camaro but really just wanted to say thanks to everyone.

Enjoy your Camaros, they may be the last of their kind.

Rocker,

This has been my 16th or 17th ordered car in my lifetime (I am 50 years old) so I am used to waiting for them but I also want to enjoy them. If I see another car available on a lot somewhere I am not beyond flying there and driving back with it. I had hoped that I would have had my car somewhere in the May or June timeframe latest but there wasn't a CGM constraint when I ordered back in October so I wouldn't have known the impact. Other options of course are killer deals on 2009 corvettes so I am planning on continuing my support of GM one way or another. Thank you for your concern.

Saw the CGM Corvette at a few car shows. Looks awesome in person. Sounds like you can't go wrong either way.
