Beautiful Truck as well... I was looking for a beater when I ended up with a 2012... Price point for what you get would have been hard to beat... I looked at some used 3/4 ton diesels, just didn't want someone elses headaches... i know there are really good used ones out there.. but often you don't know until it's too late...

I was actually making that reference to Doug stating he needed to talk to mike... I have no need of a blower, unless I want some compound boost... That would be sic....

I'll be fine with my truck, or better than fine as I really like it... It's roomy, comfortable, pretty good gas mileage, until I hook this trailer on it with the car on the trailer... but it'll do what I need for now...

With the good guidance I've recieved, and the parts I'm adding, it ought to tow quite well...

Hey R,

I am sure it is somewhere else in your thread so forgive me if this has already been covered, but put the biggest tranny cooler you can fit on it. That is such a common point of failure on a 1/2 ton.

Sounds like you have it all covered. Cool stuff.

Bet you can't wait to get back to dry land.

Well, I'll describe what I know of the truck, and tell me if more is needed...

It has the heavy tow package... With this there is the HD trans cooler, and a HD oil cooler...

The truck has the 3.92 rear gears and there is a tow haul button on the dash... Based on what little I know or have been told about that, It locks out the upper overdrive, and increases the fluid pressures, and changes the shift points...

With brakes on all four wheels of the trailer, and a properly adjusted trailer brake controller, which I'll check with the guys at the trailer place to ensure how to properly set it... I'll have every patch of contact with brakes... and the 5200 lb axles have bigger brakes than the 3200 lb axles...

Ratings are what they are, and should be taken with a grain of salt, but Dodge list this one with 11200 lbs tow capacity, not including the weight of the truck... I take that with a big grain of salt... but it should handle 7500 or so with the preparations I'm making. I'll haul it to Fredericksburg for the Pedders install, and back... and if it still doesn't feel good I'll use my father in laws truck for the Fest... I'll have all my add on items on the truck by then...

I forgot to add, the drivers info center has a screen for monitoring the trans temps...

Do you know off hand what the ranges are and what the critical numbers are for impending trans failure... I have no idea with Autos...

Lol.. I wish I was in a boat headed home...

Just found out that I may have to be on a rig in Pascagoula Miss on the 8th of August... I get home on the 6th or 7th... That means I would have to drop the car off at the shop, or in the garage... store the trailer, get stuff around the house taken car of and drive like hell to get there... I'll have to be ready to start work at 6:00 on the 6th...

I sent a note to my supervisor asking if they accounted for this when they asked me to trade rigs... I did tell them about the Fest and that I wasn't going to miss it.. Hopefully they allow me my four weeks off and then I'll be on a three on three off schedule...

Time will tell... and PQ... is the party post for being the 4000th poster in this thread... If so, cool...we'll tip a cold one to that in three weeks..

There aint nothing gonna put a darkish cloud over the Fest for me...

If I had to be on the rig Monday after the Fest, I'ld arrange for someone to drive my truck home and get the car put away... and fly down to Pascogoula....

Remember last year... car broke half way there... didn't slow me down.. well it did slow me down a bit but only physically...
