Anyone had crank conn rod bearing failure?

As title states.. Has anyone experienced connecting rod bearing failure at the crankshaft on the LS3-L99 yet? I have that dreadful knock coming from the bottom end at 30k miles. Mobile1 since day 1 and no oil pressure issues. Unsure about oil volume issues. Factory oil pump .

that's a comparison of some popular synthetics....guess which looked like it sucked most? And yes ZDDP is important as anything.

Wow sorry to hear that. Sounds like maybe the oil pump failed and trashed the bearings. Every time I start my car I check the oil pressure gauge.

It might not be the best oil, but it is definitely not why your engine failed.

Used it in all of my forced induction applications over the years and no catastrophic engine failures as a result.

Matt at Florida Power and Speed can assist with any questions you have. I'm dropping my car off to them next week for a freshly built 417.

BTW Mobil one was the worst on the comparison for a reason if you all could read.... anyway....... if you use the wrong grade of motor it can seriously ruin our ls3 engines that are made for 30 weight!!! Starve the upper valve train and bearings on start up and until hot over and over and what happens.... use oil without enough ZDDP and what happens........ Use a oil that has too much friction modifiers and lets the roller lifters just slide and what happens...... Its important to be very sure you are not contributing to a cars failure is my point and I have read a lot of posts where people just coincidentally all used mobil one..... and if you go somewhere to get it from a 55 gallon drum from say a jiffy lube they will say oh its great..... yet studies show 20% of drummed products fail to meet standards for the oil industry due to their widely varied filling in bulk. And that's versus like 0% out of a quart.

I try to take the best care of my car so I can use the crap out it when I need to like everyday, I am just saying maybe a bearing turned? maybe a nut /bolt came loose? For me things like driven racing bulletins, ASE bulletins, oil info, tech bulletins, any info I can glean from sites like this make a difference and talking to mechanics and techs. And dexos is just a standard which is met by any turd oil, my oil I use exceeds that greatly, and is properly formulated specifically for my engine not a million civics on the road waiting to go to the crusher.

DO not defend a oil company they hate you and removed all their ZDDP gladly to help out the LIBERAL'S cat saving campaign to also ruin the old cars engines if they did not get wise.......... And big auto said yesireee we can sell em new roller lifter cars as most are now anyway...... And the consumer was told what........ NADA until they started going hey my cam failed my engine blew up, my yada yada and mechanics had to explain it to them. OOOPs going on a rant again..... must have been talking about the EPA....

My lt1, ls1, lq5 all ran Mobil 1 for well over a 100k hard driven and raced miles. I currently do not use it any more, but do not believe at 30k the oil had anything to do with what happen.

OP seems to have a cam. Mobil 1 is fine for a stock LS3, but not great at all for a cammed engine. Might not be the only reason for the engine failure, but did not help. I suspect the stock oil pump stopped working, like many other stock LS3 engine with low mileage.

LG motorsport made a thread about oil choice for cammed LSX after a number of anormal engine failures.

Great advice; run oil for your application(you need ZDDP additive in cammed engine, which regular Mobil 1 do not have much, if any) and upgrade your oil pump, which is junk.
