Fall/Spring/Rain tire?
Is there a tire available that would grip better in the rain during fall/spring seasons? I don't see the ZL1 being a vehicle I would drive in the winter but the Pacific Northwest gets its share of rain in the fall/spring. How good is the stock tire in the rain?

I don't know if the G2 tires are any better in wet than the G1. I had f1 supercars on my Z06 when I bought it now NT05's. less hp than the zl1 but it is managable to drive but flooring my car in first or second is out of the question at any speed. if you not strait you can't pin it in 3rd either. it is all albout throttle control. that being said as long as you just dive they do fine.
the problem you run into is there are no all seaon 305 tires so you either have to downsize or live with summer tires. honestly 580hp and ran I tink the car is always going to be a handfull if you don't respect the surface. I think temparature is harder to adjust for than the rain. I have had rear wheel drive high hp cars all my life. I am used to rain. it is the the low temp loss of dry grip that suppries me somtimes.

Hognutz I was thinking these Pirelli P Zero's might be better in the rain.

The Pirelli Asimetrico tire is not a "wet" weather tire.
A better choice if you want Pirellis for Wet and dry would be Pirelli PZero UTQGL220AA A outer diameter 28.4 RPM N/A tread depth 8/32 Ship weight 30. pounds GM part #19252818 List $703.41 But they cost alot more |

I was not able to find any all seasons in 305's only 285's but I do not see size specs for the one above only the $722 price that would scare me away.

I checked sites from most manufacturers today and didn't see a matching set of 4 in the right size. One of the Bridgestones came in the right size for the rear, but the front was only avail in a different model. It might be worth considering. Hopefully others will come out with the 285 and 305 35 tires.

Find yourself a good summer tire with good wet weather traction. I have summer tires on my 600hp GTO they performed better in the rain than all seasons.

Thats not always the case. You may find yourself making a emergency brakeing or some type of defensive driving in wet weather. Having the proper tires net better results according to conditions. No matter how well you drive you may find yourself in a situation where you have to make defensive manuvers. Tires stop the car.
