For me the ambiguous styling of the Genesis exterior is the biggest drawback. If you come up on someone going too slow on the road and they see you coming in the mirror, NOBODY is going to get intimidated and pull over to let you by. You roll up on someone with the Camaro and they will either pull over to let you pass or pull over to change their shorts.

That's the biggest advantage of the Camaro in my opinion. Your opinion may vary.
Getting intimidated by a car.

I can't believe how many "my car is my penis" posts I see on this site. NO car will MAKE you a "bad ass". But I think a lot of you think it will. It's almost comical to read some of these posts.

I can't for the life of me understand why someone would send their hard earned American dollars to Korea or Japan or anywhere overseas when American workers are struggling to keep their jobs and our economy is going down the tubes?!

Is anyone with me on this?
Again, with the veiled jingoism and calling out someone's patriotism.

My first 4 cars were American. I served my country in our military for 10 years. In fact, even as a civilian I'm still working to protect my country. How many of you wannabe "bad ass" meathead man-children can say the same? So **** you and anyone else that tries to say that I don't support my country, veiled or otherwise.

I'm sick of you so-called "patriots" that only love your country when everything is like YOU want or only like people who agree with YOUR points of view. I'm a FREE man and can spend my money as I please.

I never brought this up on this forum before, but I'll go ahead and say it now. The brainless, immature, frat-boy Camaro "culture" was really starting to turn me off. It really affected my decision to either wait on the Camaro or go with something else. I really had to decide if I wanted to be associated with some of the idiocy that manifests around the "culture".

I'm beginning to believe I made the right decision.

And I'm out.

Someone could just as easily say you're the one being all comical because you have no defense for having a "generic" car, so you insult everyone with unique cars and calling them names with vaguely sexual overtones.

Some cars remind me of the the store-brand food you get at wal-mart or sam's club. If you want a car that reminds many people of plain vanilla then that's the better for you. You can't seriously expect to "show off" your import on a Camaro forum and not get any other opinions. I was trying to give my critique in an inoffensive and non confrontational manner and you flip out?

If you're going to be insulting me about styling cues and making sexual stereotypes based only on the fact that I think the camaro looks more serious then don't be surprised when someone says you come off like your car is your "******" (and I don't mean to insult anyone here of the female persuasion with this).

I disagree.

I'm not going to speak for what anyone else has said but I personally made one post to the guy and I think I was quite civil and recognised that he could have his own opinions and they were valid too. He F-ed up and tore into me with a personal attack and name-calling. Totally uncalledfor.

A thinner skinned person than I would have taken offense and called in the monitors at that kind of reaction.

You guys need to stop looking for fights when there are none.

I never meant to say he had to buy a Camaro or he was an asshole unAmerican!! Nor do I think you have to have a Camaro to be cool. I just think that people need to think about who their purchases affect financially. last time I checked Korea is still a communist country with a dicatator and has one of the worst human rights records there is. Why would you give profits to that country???? I don't shop at WalMart because they import over $28 Billion from China every year. That's my choice and the guy who bought the Hyundai has every right to do so. But if someone doesn't make the point that we are responsible for what we do with our money, WE WON"T HAVE ANY!!! We'll all be living in a van down by the river because we sent our money to some other third world country who now owns us!!

North Korea ^^^

South Korea has been a friend and trading partner to the US for 40 years. South Korea is an advanced modern country. North Korea can't manufacture a toilet without Chinese help. South Korea has great infrastructure and manufacturing with a normal healthy population (fun fact: the average S. Korean male is 4 inches taller then the average N. Korean due to diet). Hyundai is from the South.

You make it sound like eating the food is less important than who sees you with it.

No question, the Camaro is way better looking, and a better value for your dollar...but the Genesis coupe seems like a pretty solid choice too. It is definitely going to compete for potential Camaro buyers' sales.

I'm with him. If I don't want to get out of your way, it doesn't matter what you're driving, I'm not getting out of your way. If you drive like a jerk who thinks he can push people around because his car looks cool, I'm not going to want to make an effort for you -- and if you're offensive enough I may slow down without letting you pass just to bust your balls.
