Overwhelming desire for jet stream blue ZL1!!

Every thread on here has multiple posts asking for jet stream blue on the ZL1. GM are you listening?? I understand the paint has to be shared across the line of cars built at the camaro plant but i think the jet stream will do very well on the other cars also ( I'm sure better then the current blue)

I truly believe that the Camaro/ZL1 needs a lighter blue to make it look alive. Marina Blue. Jet Stream Blue, Pacific Blue or Supersonic Blue are just a few lighter blue colors to consider. There has been a lot of requests for a lighter blue every since ABM was removed over a year ago. It is time to think about the lighter blue color now in time for the 2012 production,

A light blue is dead and gone. It's been stated and re-stated. It did not sell well at all so GM cancelled it. Period.

Fbodfather himself has said it did so poor in sales that they have no plans to resurrect it.

You guys need to accept it and move on.

I guess I'll have to set aside extra funding to have mine painted then. The paint on the Camaro is cheap anyways, chips way too easily (at least on my 2010 it did).

Maybe it did not sell well because the color shown on the computer was totally different from the actual Aqua Blue color on the car. I have seen renderings of this car in a lighter blue and I believe it looks fantastic. If you do not like blue, then do not buy a blue one.

At one time Blue was the color I wanted my new Camaro in, I guess it will be white for now. A blue like Chrysler's B5 would just perfect for a ZL1. Just my opinion.

I would be willing to pay extra for JSB. I would want a white stripe option though.

I agree Jedi, the light blue as used in other GM models as mentioned is a striking color and the ZL-1 would look stunning. There was even a Mulsanne blue as I recall used by GM in the very early 70's which was a pretty color in my opinion and widely seen on many Chevelle's, Corvette's and Camaros. It contrasts very nicely with the black features on the current ZL-1 scheme. Although it may be dead for all practical purposes, there has been enough attention made here on the board that it is a popular color among the Camaro crowd. Did anyone ever poll it?

GM needs to put more promotion behind the blue (if the history of the medium blue on recent camaros is an indication). Its a great color, so gm should give it a little press time.

If the color was really bad then why does it occasionally reappear on other products? After the '99 Camaro and its medium blue, a similar blue palette reappeared when the TBSS was brought out in Superior Blue, in which it was only offered for 2006.

Its a moody color which, if handled right, IMO could really promote coolness and good looks to the zl1. It also happens to be one of my favorites!

Saw a Grand Sport in JSB today at the Chevy Dealer, WOW! looked awesome! Only one problem, now I am thinking, with the price they were willing to sell the GS, do I buy a ZL1 or a Corvette?

I am not sure that there was an actual poll done. I started a thread about an Exclusive Color for the Z28 which got a good response. And then started another thread about an Exclusive Color for the ZL1 which did not get much of a response. Black, White and Reds always are the favorite colors chosen. The Mulsanne Blue, LeMans Blue and Marina Blue from the 60's and 70"s usually only made up about 7 to 9% of the yearly color output per model. I truly would not expect a lighter blue color on the current design to sell more than 12% of the total color output. However if Chevy made it a predominate publicity color, such as brochure cover, featured in TV commercials and auto show displays it might go higher. Can you imagine what would have happened if Team Camaro had rolled out a Marina Blue ZL1 on stage in Chicago for its introduction instead of a red car. Everyone would be clamoring for that color now. Everyone in favor of Marina Blue, click your mouse.
