Might also try FLT (finishline transmissions)
I know they build a great 4L80 mark |

They are very strong to begin with as long as your tune is on they should hold 600-700 to the wheels for a while ... After that the upgrades are clutchs and hardened shaft ... As of now thats all thats available right now ...

Ive been reading that 500-600 is about the maxish they can handle and still have a decent life. That seems to be the consensus over on hptuners anyways.

Serge - The only place working on truly heavy duty internals is Bowler Transmission. They have the internals plus the intermediate shaft is 300-M. Mark (Bowler) has a person working to make both the input and outputs shafts out of 300-M also. Those two pieces together run about $3,000. I want them in the worst way before C5 Fest, but Mark said they won't be able to get them that quick. So for now I am going to run a 4L85E good for 1,500+ HP. Hope this helps. I think we are in the same boat. |

just woundering if you install that 4l85e if your camaro will run at all ?? considering all this complicated (all air bags and everything connected) wiring and ecu to run and start this car!!

I just talked to Brian from Thompson Automotive (the guys in this article http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_08...ine/index.html ), and he didnt recommend any serious HP be run through the stock auto tranny for prolonged times. Maybe 475-500 at the most.
