I meant to include on other thing in my post above:

As soon as the ECM senses that the trans is in gear with the clutch engaged, I'm sure it checks that RPM is in the right ballpark for the car's measured MPH. If the engine RPM is no longer close to what it should be for that gear and MPH, I'm sure that causes the DTC you saw.

Do us a favor and let us know if the replacement transmission solves the problem, and if you or Tremec/GM open up the faulty unit and figure out what was wrong with it.

Transmission problems...

I bought the 2023 Chevy Camaro RS with the automatic, 2.0l turbo. Mine continues to slip in neutral from time to time, but I am not ale to reproduce it on demand. I have absolutely no clue what's wrong and the mechanics at the dealership swear they've never once heard of this problem before.

Hello and to the forums.
Can you explain what you mean by "slip in neutral"? Also, if you don't mind, creating a new thread instead of jacking someone's manual transmission thread would be more gentlemanlike

I'd like to know also but it wouldn't surprise me if it had some kind of built in protection for break in.

Guy said a mile down the road "When stepping on the gas hard going past 4000 rpm", break in specifically says not to do full throttle starts and to stay below 4k.

It would make sense for GM to have some kind of disengagement when a new car was being abused to protect them from excessive engine/transmission break downs and warranty repairs. All it would take is the computer to hit the clutch and cut the throttle, don't know if it could be done in a way to also throw the shifter out of gear but it's not impossible.

If it is the hard 1-2 shift, then welcome to the 8-speed auto experience!

The only time mine pops out of first gear is when its below freezing out and the car is not warmed up. As soon as its warmed with trans spinning for about 4 or 5 min. it works like a charm.
