caught a flat

Well i caught a flat on the way home from the beach and had to leave the car about an hour away from home. Will the spare from an lt camaro fit on my front passenger side so i can limp home? I have a friend with a v6 LT that is willing to loan me their spare. I just dont wanna drive over an hour to find out it wont work.

If you got an SS it won't fit.

Man, im just trying to figure out before i drive an hour and twenty minutes each way. This happened at eight oclock last night with my daughter and pregnant girlfriend with me, in a small country town with no tire stores for about 60 miles. The discount tire doesnt open til monday and they dont stock our tire sizes so i have to order. I cant stand the thought of my baby sitting there for 3-4 days.

If it's a small slow leak, air it up with the compressor not using the sealant. Keep an eye on the pressure with the dic. Stop and air it up as needed till you get home. Or, use the sealant kit.

Yea, I'd be freaking out as well. How bad is the flat? No chance of fix-a-flat at least getting you home?

You do know a free tow to the nearest dealer is included in the factory warranty. Call Roadside assistance (1-800-243-8872)

If you have Onstar, they also cover free tows to the nearest dealer.

Don't be afraid to use the car's sealant and air pump. I had a puncture in the driver's side rear tire two years ago, coming home from the Camaro Nationals, about 2 hours from home. I used the factory sealant and compressor with no problems.
My dealer patched and plugged the tire, with no problems cleaning out the latex sealant. The tire has been performing fine since sealing, even driving out to Indy 9 hrs both ways, speeds up to 90 mph.

I couldnt see where a hole was but, the tire ended up coming off the rim a little bit so the sealant wont work. I can plug a tire myself but the damn thing is off the rim. I couldve towed to the nearest dealer (60 miles) but it just seems sad when your car has to go to the damn dealer for a flat. I dont let the dealer touch my car even for oil changes. guess i will drive back tonight get the rim/tire take it to discount tire for replacement since the tire has about 3000 miles on it

If you have an SS then it sounds like tow truck time. If you got a V6 then borrow your friends spare, don't forget the jack and lug wrench.

Yea its the ss but they wanted like 500 to tow me home. I can get 2 new tires for that or even 1 new tire and a spare kit. smh I got a ride so the family isnt stranded. Next road trip im taking the lexus.

This is why I carry an SS stock front rim and tire in my trunk with a jack and all the tools to swap out a flat and carry on down the road. Sorry to hear of these troubles for you. Maybe your insurance will help pay for a tow.
