FBodfather...How does the show team get black to look this good!?!

Scott...Can you let us all in on the secrets the show team uses to get black to look this awesome?

What steps are done after the initial paint job?

Any particular products your team uses to get and keep the mile deep mirror shine like this?

Thanks....

As an owner of a black 68, I can tell you that one of the best products I have come across to help keep down swirls, etc. is Zymol.......you apply it in a back and forth motion and remove it in a 90 degree back and forth motion while the product is still wet. I get comments all the time asking how or why don't I have swirl marks........there are some, but if you stay on top of it, they are not that noticeable. Zymol also makes the black blacker if they makes sense. It actually looks darker as you go across the car.

I can't answer how they have this car looking so good, but I would also imagine that there might be a little wetsanding going on after the car was completed.

I'm getting my 2010 in black though, so I really hope this is an early example of how I can expect to receive it..........

That black does look good, but it will be a PITA to keep clean. You will be washing every day not every week.

If someone has the secret to keeping a shine like that I'm definately getting black. That was my original choice but the lazy part of me says no black. Someone has to know the secret to the wet shine look.

What I really want to know is if that car was painted on a production line. I've never seen GM paint that crisp or clear. Orange peel is something I've just come to expect from GM products.

Since this is a pre-production car, I wouldn't be suprised if this one was "color" sanded and buffed to such a smooth finish.

Thats how new black paint looks on a new car that hasn't seen any daily driving. I'm sure it was also hand painted and color sanded.

i would prefer if they had a Jet Black exterior also
it gives it a flatter look minus all the high maintenance

Would the factory Camaro's machine painted look anything like this hand painted and color sanded black? Are they machine color sanded at factory at all? Just curious.. I too would like ot know what products were used as well to get this shine as it is the best I've ever seen on a black car before.. Also would it be possible to get a mirror shine like this with the cyber grey as I've never seen one freshly waxed in person ???
