took deleivery of a new 2SS 2 hours ago...
Hello - 1st post here - look likes a nice place!.
I am retired from the car business and always wanted a camaro and esp a V-8! I took delivery today and have a few basic questions - not in the manual. 1. I am an amatuer detailer and have all the tools - pads, products, rotary and random orbital...Hows the paint on this car? hard? soft? any other tips? I took delivery and told them not to touch it..It's got some water spots that are not etched, so a mild polish like Menzerna 4500 in order.... 2. the 2nd thing is they offered me $750 free worth of GM accessories and one of the options is an "enhanced exhaust" - looks like pipes and new muffs...I would not mind a little more throat, but don't want any drone at highway...opinions? If it drones, I'll just opt for the mats and engine cover, I guess... thanks in advance! |

Welcome.
I can't answer the first question, as to the second, yes there will be drone. Some systems are different than others but all will drone. That's why GM put those huge trash cans on the car stock. After a while, you won't hear it anymore though.

Get the flat black ralley stripes and maybe some red painted splash gaurds...that should cover all 750 or close to it.
Although the GM mufflers are a nice add-on. They aren't loud either they just sound a little better. |

Awesome. Congrats. On the first question. Spend some time watching Junkman Videos on youtube. Start with the two bucket wash. Then how to use a porter cable or buff a car or l ain't correction, I can't rem ember what's its called. But he'll go over all the steps of washing, drying, claying, polishing, and how to do all that while avoiding swirl marks. He's entertaining too.
Good Luck
