Pre load the torque converter. (Stand on the brake and give it just enough gas not to break the tires loose)

There are lots of factors to determine you times. Been awhile since I looked at 1/4 V6 stock times but I would think 15-16..

..Don't expect that your first few times though. Most will say to practice proper launches and don't stress about ET's. Take you time and learn your car and the track.

Plenty of people will give you pointers to help you out. Have fun and be safe with it.

Also, don't try to beat the tree. You can sit there after the light goes green for twenty minutes and still run a low time since the clock does not start until you leave the line. Focus on proper launches, not reaction time.

#1 - Read This -- http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317537
#2 - Do a short burn out to just clean the tires off. When you stage, wait until both lanes show ready and tap the throttle (while holding be the break of course) to get it to rev to about 1800-2000 RPM then let it fall back to idle. With practice you can time it so that it falls back to idle right at the time you want to launch.
#3 - When you launch let off the brake and roll into the throttle, don't stab it. If you spin then then you gave it gas too quickly. If you bogged then you rolled in too slowly.
#4 Play with your rear tire pressure so that you can roll into the throttle quickly without spinning
#5 Practice -- After a few runs you should be turning low to mid 14s ETs for corrected times.

#6 HAVE FUN <-- 'cause that's what its all about.

My stock converter seemed to work better if you preflashed it. It could all be in my head though.

Ok so i was able to go to the track last night, and alaskacamaro was spot on. My best time was 15.17 and it was my first pass ever! For being my first time i am very happy with it! had alot of fun!! The car was bone stock and i was running 20" factory replicas with 275/40 all around which are heavier than oem. Now that i know my time for bone stock, i can start adding bolt ons and see the improvement!! lol

Good job OP...first pass too.

Full bolt-ons and suspension upgrades next. Texas has a lot of very good tuner shops too. Soon you too will have a love/hate (performance/money spent) with your car as the rest of us.
