For street driving? I wouldn't even consider them in the conversation for on track driving.

They're incredibly cheap. It would be hard to resist: if they do well at the track, too, we would finally have found great dual purpose tires at literally less than half the cost.

I just don't agree that there is only a few tires better than re-11 on the track. On a previous car I went from re-11 to rs3 and the increase in performance was substantial despite similar treadwear ratings. Also, x25 put the rs3 and the stock good years at around the same laptime in his testing. So inferring here, the re-11 is more expensive than the stock goodyears by a significant margine and I'm willing to bet also slower on track, but take that for what you will as I havn't done any direct comparisons myself.

Edit: thinking back on it, I changed sizes when I went to rs3s, so there is a good chance that I'm being unfair to the re-11s

The RE71R is a much better alternative for autocross. The V720 has had numerous complaints since its release involving premature delamination and inconsistent wear.

My Kuhmo V720s came are died. All the way to damn cords they are very good. I would get them. I am actually going to use a set for track use this year. The car actually handles better with the Kuhmo than the NT01.
