2LT RS tire question

For an average driver who doesn't race, maybe just a few burnouts and summer only driving how long can I expect the tires to last on 2011 2LT RS? What's a good cost of these tires when I do replace them? A local shop wanted like 1800 for all 4.

Joseph......I have a 2LT/RS.....I currently have 23000 on my tires....and still have plenty of life left.....maybe about another 5000 to 7000 will do it, so getting 30000 miles out of the tires is very doable. As far as the replacements.....if you are talking about replacing them with the SAME tires, (Pirelli PZero), they will typically run about $240 each.....just for the tires, then depending on your shop you uses, add in the mounting and balancing. There are other tires out there that are a bit cheeper and just as good, like the NEW General G-MAX AS-03, which is still a high performance tire, but will last a lot longer, as teh compound is a little harder, AND better yet, about $50 a tire cheeper. So there ya go.

Anyone have a winter tire recommendation? I had a friend say to buy a whole separate set of smaller rims with winter tires like 17's or 18's.

Just buy a set of takeoff wheels, tires, and sensors and put them on. You should be able to buy a set for $900 to $1000.

Then sell your old wheels and tires, or put a winter set of tires on those wheels.

Just a thought.

which price? 1800 or 1000?
1000 isnt that bad really. if you cant do 1000 all at once then buy fronts then buy rears later or vise versa. also if you can luck out and find take offs locally for a good price then sell your wheels to recoup some of the cost. wheels alone are worth 500 at least i would think.

the 1800, 1000 is doable.

I read that these would be a good replacement after the P-Zero's wear out

what do you mean by a set of takeoff wheels? And why would I sell my old wheels and tires. I'd wanna keep my RS wheels and summer tires for when its nice out.

I zipped through those pirellis in 17k miles. Too soft... and overpriced. I just put on some Hancook v12. Those were only 180 a piece ,and they have a lot better grip. I've seen them online for about 150 each if you had them shipped to you. And they are the correct Y rating.

take-off wheels = wheels someone else took off to put on different wheels and tires, lot's for sale, make sure they include the pressure monitor. have a set sitting in the garage now. You can choose 18", 19" 20" or 21".

My car has just about 61,000 on mine and still plenty of life left.

(Of course, I have winter tires that I run for about 6 months a year.)
