June Car and Driver cover article - Camaro vs. Mustang

Just got done reading the June Car and Driver Magzine. There Main artical compares the V6 and V8 Mustange to the V6, and V8 Camaros. Nice artical but the our V6 Camaro didnt do as well as the V8.

Well on that note I was at the local Ford dealer today(helping Momma buy a Fusion) and test drove the 2011 V-6 Mustang. I was not impressed at all. My butt dyno tells me my V-6 has more giddy up and I tell you what, that interior ain't nothing to brag about. I think the Camaro has it all over the Mustang. For those who used to complain about the Camaro not having lights on the vanity mirrors, neither did the Mustang!

I have the V8 Camaro and brother has the V6 Mustang ... I have test drove the 5.0 Mustang and the V6 Camaro each for a day.

My Opinions:

Mustang is lighter by no doubt and can give it a bit more "sporty" feel if you have to put it to words. BUT I think the Camaro has a more planted feeling.

V6 comparison ... Neither are huge giddy-up-n-go cars compared to my v8 but compared to each other I couldnt pick a winner just on the power alone. Both pretty equal. BUT shifting pattern goes to Camaro.

V8 comparison ... equal power same overall performace etc. Seems a bit quicker but also alot smaller so i dont know. Overall driving I pick Camaro.

Steering on the Mustangs I just DONT like. Loses the feel of the road imo. You turn the wheel and car turns no feedback from road or anything for the most part and way to much give after cornering, the car just doesnt want to go straight again. I will keep my Camaro yet again.

Looks .... well as most on here would agree ... Camaro hands down.

Just my short opinions. Both cars are nice and respectable to their owners but in this household ... Camaro safe in garage and Mustang in the driveway!

I can't stand reading the crap these guys write. Far too critical on the Camaro. Most people are buying the car because it looks so great, I think they forget that.

x3 Seriously!

Besides performance, nearly everyone buys based on LOOKS, not "reviews".
