Thumbs up

Very cool.
Smart thinking CamaroSpike!! I like your style. This is the exact reason GM is offering these "kits" for people to do. Will be following this thread. (Almost like taking a beat up '69 Camaro and making a pro-touring monster out of it!!!) lol
GOOD LUCK!!

well, considering a BIW is ~$7500.00 plus around 15k or so for the motor, a SRA will run around $2500.00 or so, transmission another $3000.00, then the fab work to get it all in the car, plus getting the kmembers and other stuff needed (which will most likely come from a junkyard). then wheels and other necessities.... im looking at spending between a 1SS and a 2SS on the whole thing. tho my Green paint job will run me north of 3k as well, but that can come later.

thats another thing I was looking at. you can get a 2010 shell for $7500.00, but you cant get a repro 1969 shell for less than $12k.

Wait... 7,500 for a BIW... I thought they were like 11,500...?

And a 350 crate with some nice go fast bits...

Woah... You're screwing with my plan, spike!

http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/_r...Camaro+BIW.pdf

and screw a crate 350..... for the roughly 5k to get a turnkey crate motor, i could spend a lil more on top of that and get a turnkey LS motor or a turnkey LSX motor....

the turnkey crate motors I was meaning towards were like the fast burn 385 and the zz350 and whatnot that you can get for 5k. thats why I said to add in a little extra for an LS turnkey setup. but I dont want to get a "pretty powerful" motor, then break it trying to coax that extra little bit out. I'll build it right from the get-go

experience is a very useful thing. you can read about how to do a lot of things, but there are some things that you just have to go out and do. then there are other things you have to do too much and then have to do it all over again.

Sounds like a hell of a plan! I should have done this to begin with. I usually rebuild something 5 time before I get it where I want it.
