Rally stripe price?
I got my car without the stripes. Looking to have them added and a local shop wants $499?!! Does that sound right to others who have had it done? I don't want to do something like that myself but that seems awfully high for what it is.

Isn't it like $470 if it were added at the factory?? For a bit more, you could probably have them painted on giving a better look and better durability. Just my .02

I just received stripes from revomotors, here on the forum. Very good quality with the same OEM appearance. And it cost me a 1/3 of the factory price.

I had mine put on at a local shop and paid $300. Stripes over lap at the end of hood and trunk lid. Also stripes go over spoiler.

Mine didn't come with stripes but I negotiated with the dealer to put them on for $250. I regret doing that because I am having them peeled off and painted for $1500 soon.

Thanks for the input. $500 is just to high for what it is. Found a shop that will do it for $300 parts and labor or $150 if I supply the vinyl.

Have a dealer put on the OEM rallys. Make sure to ask if the person who is putting them on, has done many sets.
If you have a dealer put them on, they are warranted with the car 3/36. The nice thing about vinyl is you can always pull it back off. With paint, once your sanding your committed. The CGM OE rallys look great on SIM. |

I would think painted do look better and last longer, but....
I currently have the 'Rally Racing' stripes. I really don't like them because I want them to extend further down the hood and wrap around the spoiler. For this reason, I just purchased a set of 'bumblebee' vinyl stripes on ebay for around $150. I just need to have them installed, and hopefully it will be around $100 for install. The reason I am not painting them on is because I might 'repaint' the entire car some time in the future ( 3+ years) and so I don't want to waste my money. I do, however, want that great look that the stripes give it, now. thanks, BL.

I'm gonna stick with the vinyl. And yes the matte black looks great on the SIM! I actually like the size and length of the rally stripe I don't want them to extend any further.
Thanks for the input everyone. I'm actually sitting in shop while my windows are getting tinted now. Heck of a deal from what I've seen. $125 for ceramic tint with lifetime warrenty from the most reputable place in Tulsa from what I've been told. Pics will be posted when complete! |
